The Lagotto Romagnolo is a squarely built, small to medium sized dog of rustic appearance; sturdy and robust with dense, curly coat of woolly texture. The measurement from ground to elbow is greater than from the elbow to the withers. There is a noticeable difference between the sexes. The Lagotto Romagnolo is an ancient Italian breed of the duck retriever, and is also used as a truffle hunter. It is an excellent watch dog and family companion. The Lagotto Romagnolo is lively, intelligent, and affectionate.
